Steeped in the business of tea is 4th generation tea trader Mr Lim Tian Wee, whose family continues to run the century-old Lim Lam Thye. His great-grandmother, Lim Kheng Thiam, had established the family business originally as a provision shop selling Chinese tea in 1918, and now it’s one of Singapore’s largest tea importer. In 2006, he decided to strike it out on his own and founded the Gryphon Tea Company after years in marketing roles at Unilever and Beiersdorf AG. With a sharp tea palate, Monogram Tea was launched to celebrate Gryphon Tea’s interpretation of luxury and personalisation.
